Features
Flow-based simulations of the European Power Sytem
Analyze price formation dynamics, power flow dispatch and exchange dynamics between bidding zones
European scope
Our model simulates the power system at the transmission level with a European scope including the synchronous areas of Europe, UK and the Nordics.
The system is constrained by transmission line capacities, reactances and resistances such that the energy dispatch is constrained by the power flow equations, and that transmission losses are included.
Physical dynamic
The forecasts are the results of a deep modelisation of the complete European power system, including the Nordics and the UK synchronous zones.
Each generation unit above 100MW is included in the system and modelled based on its efficiency, inflows, costs and other physical parameters constraining its behavior in the power system.
Hourly forecasts
The forecasts are given at an hourly resolution. The range of locational marginal prices (LMP) inside a bidding zone are displayed on the interface and used to compute a price forecast. Once new clearing data is available, it is displayed on the interface and the deviations are computed.
